Why you should never buy an RV

“Why you should never buy an RV?” I hear you asking. And I have to admit, that when I first came across the RV industry, the notion of RV ownership felt very “American”. We were a nation of campers and trailer trash makers. And, now I hear that our culture is beginning to shift, and RV’s are losing their appeal. In fact, if we talk about people who actually own an RV, they tend to be older, have more than one child, and are considered middle-aged.

Now then, I can understand if you feel that way: It does not make sense to me. After all, I grew up with an RV on my father’s truck trailer. My friends and I used it for camping trips, fishing, traveling, and just having a great time. There really wasn’t much else in life quite like an RV.

But if that was the past, and you are asking, “Why you should never buy an rv? “, maybe it’s high time you reacquaint yourself with the RV lifestyle. There are many benefits to owning an RV, and I’m going to list some of them now, and then I’ll explain why you should never buy an rv. Hopefully, after reading this, you’ll have a better idea of what you’re getting into, and hopefully you will not only realize what an amazing purchase an rv is, but you’ll also realize what a wonderful life you’ll have living in an RV.

One of the obvious benefits to owning an RV is freedom. You get to decide where you want to vacation, when you want to go there, how often, and for how long. You no longer have to worry about fighting traffic, or dealing with endless gas expenses, because you don’t have to drive anywhere. Owning an RV means you can literally go where you want to whenever you want to. And with fuel prices rising, that freedom is even more valuable today.

Another benefit to owning an RV is security. You will be safer than if you were to travel in a vehicle on a normal highway. Because of the size and weight of an RV, it’s much harder to roll one around than a car, which is what makes an RV so appealing in the first place. When traveling with an RV, you can also choose to camp, which is much more comfortable than sleeping in a hotel. If you do decide to camp, however, there are plenty of RV parks and campgrounds that have everything you need, including electricity and plumbing. In addition, with modern RV security systems, you can be assured your personal items are protected from thieves.

Finally, although an RV might seem more expensive than a comparable sized home, there are numerous discounts and rebates available for purchasing an RV. Many areas offer tax credits or reductions when purchasing an RV. You can also save money by purchasing your RV on the Internet, as many RV retailers now take credit cards and offer great discounts for purchasing online. Finally, with the economy the way it is, more people are choosing to travel longer road trips. So, if this is something you’ve thought about before buying an RV, now is the time to jump in.

Why you should never buy an RV? Besides the obvious benefits, an RV is not a cheap way to travel. Even if you decide to purchase used, you will most likely pay more than if you were to purchase brand new. There is no way around this, so if you are planning to travel long distances on your RV, you should seriously consider an alternative route. However, if you are just starting out, then it’s probably the best route for you.

As mentioned before, there are plenty of reasons why you should never buy an RV. However, these are just a few of them. If you are thinking about buying an RV, it’s probably high time that you looked around and evaluated all your options. Think about where you plan to spend the majority of your time while on your travels. This will help you determine which types of vehicles are the best for your needs and which aren’t.
